Airblast System
Airblast System

During the cleaning process, a small amount of cleaning solution or rinsing water is drawn into the milk line by vacuum. One end of the milk line, furthest from the vacuum source, is terminated in a solenoid valve, one side of which is open to the atmosphere.

The Air Blast Control opens and closes the solenoid valve; when it opens the sudden inrush of air forces the cleaning solution up and around the walls of the milk line and into the milking point tap-offs, ensuring areas which are not normally in contact with the solution are covered and cleaned. The process is automatically repeated at intervals during the cleaning cycle by adjusting the control’s settings.

The control has two independent channels so may be used in single, branch and looped line parlours, as well as 1 output control water entry into the milk line and 1 output control the air solenoid as described above.

CAP Milk Recovery System

The ATL Compressed Air Purge (CAP) milk recovery system allows the user to recover any residue milk in the delivery line. The system is available on cow, goat and sheep parlours

Compressed Air Purge (CAP) Milk Recovery System

The CAP milk recovery system is a cost effective system for recovering milk from the delivery line after milking. The system injects filtered compressed air into the delivery line near the milk pump, pushing the milk through from the receiver to the tank.

The system includes a food grade stainless steel non-return valve for clean in place (CIP) washing and a 3 stage filter to remove impurities from the compressed air.

The system is available in two formats – a manual system operated by hand or an electronic system operated from the ATL milk pump control – and for three milk delivery line sizes – 32mm, 38.1mm (1.5″) and 50.8mm (2″).

The ATL CAP milk recovery system is available for existing and new parlours

Milk Pump Controls

The ATL Milk Pump Controls operate the milk pump, plate cooler valve and plate cooler bypass valves. The Milk Pump Controls are designed to fit all types of parlours, new and old, high and low level, and can be used with cows, sheep or goats.

The control includes receiving vessel milk level detection using either probes or float switches, a plate cooler water valve delay and a plate cooler bypass valve delay. The plate cooler water valve delay is used to ensure that the cold water flow is maintained through the plate cooler after the milk pump has stopped running. The plate cooler bypass valve delay is used to wash the plate cooler at the start of washing and then bypass it to maintain the wash fluid temperature during the wash. All the facilities have separate potentiometer controls to fine tune the timings. NB – Probes or floats switches are not supplied with the control.

What is different about the ATL Phase Milk Pump Controls?
The control uses solid state components as opposed to a mechanical relay or contactor. The solid state output provides many characteristics which are difficult to find in electro-mechanical devices. They have a high degree of reliability, significantly reduced interference, fast response and high vibration resistance. They also have no moving parts to wear out or arcing contacts to deteriorate. When the milk pump motor output switches on, it waits until the mains AC voltage crosses the zero threshold, providing much smoother switch on, reducing switch on noise spikes, and therefore should increase milk pump motor life.

1 Phase Milk Pump Control

What is different about the ATL 1 Phase Milk Pump Control?
The 1 phase milk pump control helps maximise cooling efficiency keeping the flow of cold water in the plate cooler.

Slug Washers
Slug Wash System

ATL has designed two slug washers for use on swingover and doubled up milking parlours. Both are made from 316 stainless steel.

The swingover parlour slug wash doubles back 180 degrees over the top of the milk line for approximately 2 metres. It has 2 nipples at the end furthest from the milk line for the entry of wash water and atmospheric air.

The double up parlour slug washer consists of a butterfly valve to shut-off the looped milk line next to the receiver and 2 inlet nipples on the opposite side of the butterfly valve to the receiver for the entry of wash water and atmospheric air.

Both systems are designed to work with the Air Blast Control or the Milk Meter Wash Box which control the inlet of water and air into the system.

Slug washers are available in the following sizes; 50mm (2″), 63.5mm (2.5″), 76.2mm (3″) and 101.6mm (4″) on swingover parlours.
